Gaurav holds a dual degree (B.Tech.+M.Tech.) in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Delhi and an MBA from IIM Calcutta. Immediately after completing his studies, Gaurav joined McKinsey & Company as a management consultant where he worked across sectors and geographies, solving diverse corporate problem statements. Gaurav's desire to create impact at scale by engaging with the governance process led him to embark on an entrepreneurial journey.
Gaurav founded Samagra in 2012 and has been leading it since inception. He has extensive experience of working with senior political and bureaucratic leaders, to conceptualize and deliver large scale systemic transformation across governance domains. He has shaped Samagra's values and approach to impact, and continues to drive it into the future.
Ankur is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Masters in Commercial Law from the University of Auckland. He has over 10 years of experience in diverse industries including start-ups, consulting firms, philanthropy foundations and private equity. He worked as a Senior Manager at PwC in Auckland and as a Director at Zuna Capital Partners. He was the Lead of the Health profile at Michael & Susan Dell Foundation in India.
Ankur's belief that governance is the most effective lever of change in India led him to co-found Samagra. He joined Gaurav in this journey in 2015, and has been instrumental in driving Samagra's journey and growth both as an organisation and in terms of the impact it has been able to create.
Rahul completed his MS (Engineering) from Georgia Tech. He worked as a Product Manager at National Instruments and was the first Product Manager at Google India. He also worked as the Chief Product Officer at Sokrati. He is currently a co-founder and partner at DoNew, a social startup that uses technology to bring disruptive people and product innovation to individuals, startups & governments.
Rahul plays an active role in advising Samagra as a Technology expert. He has been instrumental in defining the third pillar of Samagra's problem solving approach-the extensive use of technology and data to achieve impact at scale. He drives the use of technology across all our programmes.
Rohit completed his Bachelors of Technology from IIT Bombay and his Masters in Economics and Public Policy from Harvard University. He has worked with BCG, PRS Legislative Research and as the head of policy and research at the office of Baijayant Panda, Member of Parliament. He is a co-founder at Young Leaders for Active Citizenship (YLAC), a social enterprise founded with the aim of increasing the participation of young people in the democratic process and building their capacity to lead change in society.
Rohit plays an active role in advising Samagra as a Public Policy expert.He believes that effective and efficiently designed public policy is integral to creating impact at scale. He drives the public policy aspect of all our programmes.
Aditya is a mechanical engineer by education. His passion and drive to bring about social impact nudged him to prepare for the civil services examination. Three gruelling prep years, including 3 UPSC interviews, further solidified that drive. However, filial responsibility and a knack for numbers led him to work in a U.S.-based equity research start-up for about 4 years. However, along with this work, he continued his pro bono work with a couple of education NGOs and validated that his calling was in the social impact space. He came to know about Samagra and joined full time.
The opportunity to use core management consulting in solving governance issues to drive impact at scale brings him to Samagra. He has led the Saksham Haryana Education programme and currently leads the Chief Ministers Good Governance Associates programme in Haryana.
Anish holds a Bachelors in Engineering from Delhi University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He worked at A.T. Kearney in telecommunications, manufacturing and energy across geographies. Before Samagra, he was a Vice President in Strategy at the Lodha Group, driving operational and strategic initiatives.
His interest in applying the consulting toolkit to the most relevant governance problems facing India brings him to Samagra. He leads the Saksham Haryana Education programme to achieve Grade Level Competency in government schools of Haryana.
Sukhpreet completed his Bachelors in Commerce (Honours) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi. He worked with KPMG to provide integrity intelligence for M&A transactions to Fortune 500 companies and Private Equities. Prior to Samagra, he worked as the Senior Research Associate (Team Lead) at Pratham where he setup and built a Monitoring, Measurement & Evaluation team of over 60 people across 17 states with the mandate to design and manage the implementation of standardized measurements across Pratham's flagship Read India program.
His passion to transform citizen-government experiences at scale has led him to Samagra. He worked towards leveraging technology for governance as part of the Digital Haryana Cell. He leads the ADAPT team in Odisha.
After graduating from NIT Jalandhar in Computer Science Engineering, Utkarsh has worked as Technology Consultant with Indus Valley Partners and Boston Consulting Group. During his stint with IVP and BCG, he was extensively involved in solving some complex business problems through technology in the Finance and Industrial Good sector. After BCG, he co-founded Indian Lawyers Forum with a Supreme Court Lawyer. They were trying to solve the problem of information asymmetry in Indian Judiciary by disseminating information from courts to lawyers at large scale.
The urge to solve complex problems through his technology, consulting and entrepreneurial skills and implement sustainable solutions at scale brought him to Samagra. He has been leading the Digital Haryana Cell to enable the digital transformation on Haryana .
An engineer by qualification, Nikhil started out on his own with his friends to set up India's first radical mime entity, PunchTantraa. Post that, as part of the Teach for India fellowship he worked in low income schools in Hyderabad and Bengaluru as a school teacher.
His passion for creating impact at scale through better governance was cemented through his experiences working with Foundation for Democratic Reforms, Janagraha etc., before he joined Samagra. He worked on the Saksham Haryana Education programme and the Chief Ministers Good Governance Associates programme. He leads the Saksham Haryana Skills and Employment programme. He was instrumental in setting up Samagra's organisation processes.
Apoorva is a Chevening Scholar with a Masters in Development Studies from Institute of Development Studies, Sussex. She had worked with Teach For India.Before Samagra, she was a Campaign Lead at Indus Action to drive the implementation of RTE Act Section 12 (1)(c) in Delhi. She worked to drive awareness campaigns and application support processes for low income communities and school readiness camps for 3-6 year old children.
Apoorva is keen to understand public administration systems and people's participation in their own governance. At Samagra, she is currently busy exploring the first. She has been leading the Samarth programme in Himachal Pradesh, aimed at the systemic transformation of education.
Saurabh is an MBA (Marketing) by qualification and a Talent Management Consultant by profession with over 12 years of experience in advising corporate clients on streamlining their people and organisation level interventions to drive capability and productivity. Prior to joining Samagra, Saurabh has worked across organisations like EY, KPMG, GPTW, Pearson etc in several capacities as an individual contributor/self starter to a team leadership/business leader. To disrupt the static and ineffective workplace surveys, Saurabh even ventured out to build a real time employee engagement app inspired by Mihaly's research on "flow dynamics and pursuit of happiness".
He joined Samagra to pursue working towards a "meaningful goal with a higher purpose" and to have a tangible impact in people's lives. He is an Organisation Manager at Samagra and works towards enhancing the effectiveness of Samagra's organisation processes. He also handles hiring at senior levels.
Ankit graduated from IIT Kharagpur with a degree in Metallurgical & Materials Engineering in 2013. He worked for 3 years with Rio Tinto India as process engineer and business analyst for an upcoming diamond mine in Madhya Pradesh. With a belief that working directly for development rather than economic growth would satisfy him more, he joined the first cohort of the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates (CMGGA) programme in Haryana, and spent one year catalyzing improved delivery of government programmes and piloting innovative ideas in Jind district.
While providing an in-depth understanding of government's functioning at grassroot level, the CMGGA experience made him realize that effective and sustainable systemic changes can be brought about only at state levels. With this in mind, Ankit joined Samagra in 2017 to contribute towards improving governance across various domains in different states. He managed the CMGGA programme in its second year, as a part of which he worked towards police reforms and rural development.
Aishwarya completed her Bachelors of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering from VIT University, Vellore. As a part of the LAMP Fellowship (2016-17), she had worked as a Legislative Assistant to Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Member of Parliament from the New Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.
She joined Samagra to take her passion for policy and governance forward by exploring the executive and implementation end of governance.
Ajay holds a Bachelors degree in Electronics and Communication engineering from LNMIIT, Jaipur and a post graduation diploma in Liberal studies from Ashoka University. He has worked as a software engineer with an MNC, Amdocs. After post-graduation, he joined Hindustan Times as a marketing manager. In his quest for understanding business problems closely, Ajay joined a startup CarDekho.com, where he played multiple roles ranging from Business Head to Product Manager. He contributed to expanding business to tier-2 and-3 cities and improving user experience. His passion for solving complex problems and his desire to contribute to governance led to him working as a consultant to the CM office with Ashoka University's CMGGA programme, where he worked closely with the Samagra team.
As part of the CMGGA programme, he found convergence of his passion and the Samagra ideology, and hence joining Samagra was a natural progression for him.
Aneesh Mugulur completed his Industrial Engineering from R.V College of Engineering, Bangalore. Prior to joining Samagra, Aneesh worked at Your Story Media in its growth hacking team. He was also worked as a consultant to the Deputy Commissioner of Chikmaglur, Karnataka on implementing Swachh Bharat Mission in the district.
His passion for ensuring last mile delivery of G2C services to all beneficiaries brings him to Samagra. He has worked on the Samarth programme in Himachal Pradesh, during which one of his responsibilities was to ensure timely delivery of textbooks to school students. He works on the Saksham Haryana Employment and Skills programme, as a part of which he facilitates employment opportunities via aggregators such as Ola, Uber and G4S.
Avantika is a gold medallist from National Law School of India University, Bangalore. Before joining Samagra, Avantika prepared for the civil services examination and qualified for the final interview. She was a Teach for India fellow and worked full time in a low income school in Seelampur (Delhi) for two years. She focussed on differentiated learning in English and parent engagement in the community. As a fellow, she was adjudged as a 'Transformational Impact Journey' fellow for outstanding academic performance in her classroom. She also represented India as Commonwealth Youth Leader at Rwanda.
Her desire to provide good quality education to all children brought her to Samagra. She has worked on the Chief Minister's Good Governance Associates programme, as a part of which she worked on menstrual hygiene. She works on the Saksham Haryana Education programme, aimed at achieving Grade Level competency in government schools of Haryana.
Deepika holds a Bachelors in Commerce (Honours) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University. She completed her Post Graduate Programme in Management from the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. Prior to Samagra she has worked as a Financial Analyst at Barclays Bank Plc where she looked at regulatory and financial risks to the bank. She has also been a Legislative Assistant to Member of Parliament (LAMP) Fellow to Shri Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia. She supported the MP in his duties as a parliamentarian and undertook various developmental projects in the constituency.
Her belief that creating impact is multidimensional, requiring not only good policy driven from the top but a strong executive wing to deliver change on the ground brings her to Samagra. She works on the Chief Ministers Good Governance Associates programme, as a part of which one of her responsibility is management of grievances via the CM Window and Harpath.
Divya Ahuja graduated from Lady Shri Ram College for Women with Bachelors in Commerce degree in 2016. She worked as an Analyst at KPMG India at the Deal Advisory arm. Her interest in the development sector engendered from short stints in policy and social work in college.
She joined Samagra to focus on her calling to do something concrete in the impact sector and build a career path around it. She works on the Saksham Haryana Education programme, as a part of which she handles the Saksham Ghoshna and the Academic Monitoring System.
Divya holds a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and Scientific Computing from IIT Kanpur. She has completed the Young India Fellowship from Ashoka University. Through her student life, she has been working with various social sector organisations. She indulges in dance on a continuous basis and has been conferred with the cultural excellence award at IIT Kanpur and a Professional Diploma at Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts, Bengaluru.
Samagra's commitment to both scale and tangible impact by working with the government is what drew her to join it. She has worked on the Saksham Haryana Employment programme, as a part of which she facilitated apprenticeships. She works on the Samarth programme in Himachal Pradesh, as a part of which she handles the MIS among other things.
Farnoosh completed his Bachelors of Engineering in Information Technology from Maharashtra Institute of Technology - COE, Pune. Before joining Samagra, Farnoosh worked as a Techlead at Merkle Sokrati & OnlineSales.ai where he focused on delivering solutions at scale in the digital advertising space.
His desire to contribute to the exciting technological revolution governance in India is currently undergoing led him to join Samagra. He has been working as a part of the Central Tech team to develop e-governance solutions for almost a year.
Gurudutt completed his Bachelors of Engineering from Bangalore Institute of Technology. He worked as a Decision Scientist at Mu Sigma and worked on delivering analytics solutions to Fortune Top 100 companies. Prior to Samagra, he taught 4th and 5th grade students in a public school in an urban slum in Bangalore during his 2 year stint as a Teach For India fellow.
His first hand experience of challenges at a grass root level in the education sector and passion for creating an impact on the society at large led him to Samagra with the belief that impact at scale is the need of the hour and it has to be driven through the public system in India. He works on the Saksham Haryana Employment and Skills programme, as a part of which he facilitates apprenticeships and innovates technological systems for ITIs.
Hardik completed a Dual Degree in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay. Before joining Samagra, he has worked as a Product Manager in UpGrad.com, an Ed-Tech Startup, and has had stints with Housing.com as a Product Manager and a few other fintech startups as an advisor focusing on growth. He was also a co-founder at aasaanjobs.com and was responsible for the operations and business development. He entered into the policy space during his tenure as a YLAC fellow, during which he worked on Skills Development Policy with a Lok Sabha MP.
His interest in technology and the policy space has routed him to work at Samagra. He is working as part of the Digital Haryana Cell, as a part of which he handles Antyodaya Saral, to enable efficient citizen service delivery, and Harpath, to address pothole grievances.
Harsh completed his Bachelors in Business Studies from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies, Delhi University. During his term at college, he was actively involved with Enactus, and represented India at the Enactus World Cup 2018, where his team got the second position for their work inthe sanitation and education sectors of India. In addition to this, he also worked as a campaign leader for Teach for India in his college and interned at the social-sector tech startup Social Cops.
His passion towards creating social impact and bringing about a positive change in the world brought him to Samagra. He works on the Sakshma Haryana Education programme, as a part of which he works on assessments and technology systems.
Himanshu completed his Integrated Masters in Economics from IIT Kanpur. Prior to Samagra, he worked as an Associate at Boston Consulting Group where he worked with TMT, consumer goods and public sector clients on varied problems such as org-restructuring for Asia-Pacific workforce, developing market entry strategy for a fruit juice product, business process optimisation and policy formulation etc. He got an opportunity to work with the Indian bureaucracy and conduct industrial policy ideation in his stint with MoRTH on the ""Make in India"" initiative.
He believes that suboptimal policy implementation is the main reason for policy paralysis in most cases, which in turn inhibits impact, and that effective governance alone can resolve it. His belief that good governance is a key lever for change and his interest in exploring the social sector brings him to Samagra. At Samagra, he has been working on the ADAPT programme to improve the lives of farmers in Odisha, as a part of which he works on crop insurance, among other things.
Kartik completed his graduation in law from Nalsar University of Law, Hyderabad. Prior to joining Samagra, he worked as an associate in the mergers and acquisitions team of AZB & Partners, Mumbai. He also interned with MKSS, Rajasthan and NCPRI, Delhi to explore the social sector.
His inclination to work on the most challenging problems in the development space and to create impact at an unparalleled scale brings him to Samagra.
Manasa completed her Bachelor's in Economics from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. During her undergraduate years, she undertook multiple internships in the social sector, ranging from research, teaching, fundraising and pro-bono consulting. She then went on to do the Young India Fellowship, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Liberal Arts at Ashoka University to explore the wide diversity of subjects that it offered.
Her passion for policy and interest to explore governance from the implementation lens brought her to Samagra. She has been working on the Samarth programme in Himachal Pradesh, as a part of which she works on teacher training, the Shiksha Saathi App and School Development Plans.
Medha completed her Bachelors in Economics (Honours) from Shri Ram College of Commerce, Delhi University
She interned at Grameen Bank, Bangladesh, where she researched on the 97% repayment figure and how lending to women changes their socio-economic standing.She also interned with Indo German Development Cooperation, and worked to rehabilitate tribes in Tripura to move away from Jhum (Burn & Slash farming) cultivation to other more sustainable livelihoods.
Samagra aligned with her interests to work in the development domain. She has worked on the Vidya Vikasam programme in Andhra Pradesh, as a part of which she handled Gnana Dhara, a summer residential programme for remedial learning to government school children Haryana Skills and Employment programme.
Navneet holds a Bachelors in Economics (Honours) from St. Xavier's College, Kolkata. She completed the Young India Fellowship programme from Ashoka University. Prior to Samagra, she worked as an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company where she engaged in solving a variety of business related challenges for major clients in multiple sectors.
Her interest in building scalable tech solutions to create impact in the governance space brings her to Samagra. She has been working on the ADAPT programme in Odisha, as a part of which she handles FIAC meetings and Pest Advisory services.
Prasanna completed his undergraduation in Statistics from St. Joseph's College, Trichy and his post graduation in Computer Applications from Adaikalamatha College, Thanjavur. He has worked extensively in the consulting and investment banking industries and produced high end business to business and consumer facing designs. He has worked with one of the Big 3 Consulting firms and two of the top 10 Investment Banking companies.
Pratima holds a Bachelors in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi. She has volunteered with several non-profit organisations and has done multiple internships to explore the development sector. She worked with a Member of Parliament as a part of the LAMP Fellowship, where she actively designed parliamentary interventions and bills, analyzed policies and leveraged social media to increase engagement of the public in policy and governance.
Her desire to translate policies into action and better understand on-ground complexities that should be incorporated in policy-making drove her to join Samagra.
Ratan completed his Bachelors of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from IIT Bombay. He was a Young India Fellow from the batch of 2016-17. He has worked as an Assistant Manager at ITC limited. He has been interested in the social sector, specially education, for almost half a decade now. He was involved in founding the umbrella social body, Abhyuday, of IIT Bombay, Jagriti Yatra and an internship in a school in rural MP.
His passion for education and governance being the bigger lever of change in the sector, brings him to Samagra. He has been working on the Saksham Haryana Education programme, as a part of which he handles DigiLEP, aimed at training and mentoring teachers in remedial learning via Whatsapp.
Saif completed his Bachelors and Masters from IIT Kharagpur. Prior to joining Samagra, he worked as a political consultant in IPAC for the Punjab and UP state elections. During his stint, he realized that merely having a progressive government cannot ensure efficient delivery of public goods due to poor implementation of well intentioned policies.
This led him to join Samagra so that he could closely work with the administration in solving the most important systemic issues plaguing our country. He is particularly interested in the use of data and technology as a lever of scalable and sustainable impact. He has been working on developing technology and data backed solutions to problems in the education sector of Himachal Pradesh as part of the Samarth programme.
Shailiza completed her Bachelor of Engineering from the Savitribai Phule Pune University in 2015, post which, she worked as a Business Operations Associate with ZS Associates. She is a Young India Fellow from the 2017 batch and worked with the Office of Shri Maheish Girri (Member of Parliament, East Delhi) on the implementation of Rain Water Harvesting projects in the residential areas of East Delhi during the fellowship. Before joining Samagra, Shailiza was a part of the Chief Minister’s Good Governance Associate programme with the Government of Haryana and was based out of the Karnal district. She worked on strengthening the implementation of flagship programs, improving citizen delivery services, and assisting the administration on various strategy projects across multiple departments.
She believes that working with the Government is essential to drive social change on ground and this passion brings her to Samagra.
Shivika completed her Bachelors in Economics (Honours) from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai and her Masters in International & Development Economics from Yale University. Prior to Samagra, she worked as an Associate at Bain & Company where she focused on client performance improvement and developing proprietary benchmarking databases. She also engaged in pro-bono cases to explore the social sector.
Her interest in creating social impact and exploring comprehensive solutions to development issues through the lens of governance brings her to Samagra.
Suhail completed his Bachelors of Engineering in Electronics from Thapar University and his MBA in Marketing and Strategy from Indian School of Business. He went on to work with Deloitte as a Consultant.
Coming from a consulting background and with a drive for making impact, Suhail joined Samagra to address development issues by transforming governance.
Sunny holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from VIT University and a Masters degree in Public Policy and Governance from Tata Institute of Social Sciences. He has a worked with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, where he was part of the Vision Management team that envisioned and designed an action plan for Vision 2029.
His drive to create visible on-the-ground social impact brings him to Samagra. He has been working on the Vidya Vikasam programme in Andhra Pradesh, as a part of which he handles Assessment Reforms, Assessment Data Visualisation and In-service teacher training, among other things.
A Gold-Medalist Computer Engineer from NSIT, Ujjwal worked with Microsoft and Directi before moving on to pursue the Young India Fellowship. She got a chance to work with government schools in Uttar Pradesh during the fellowship, during which she experienced the gaps in Indian governance firsthand.
This experience at the grassroots level combined with her academic journey at the fellowship strengthened her belief in the potential of driving impact at scale through good governance. Hence, Samagra became the obvious choice for her. She worked on the Digital Haryana Cell, as a part of which she worked on Antyodaya Saral, to improve government service delivery. She works on the programme team of the Chief Ministers Good Governance Associates programme.
Utkarsh holds a Bachelor’s degree in Materials engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, graduating in 2018. His professional experience includes stints in academia at IIMA, at an e-commerce firm, at a 3D printing startup in Singapore and in management consulting. With an active interest in co-curricular activities, his time in Roorkee was defined by quizzing, writing and theatre. His interests manifested in a victory at the Tata Crucible regional finals, leadership of the institute’s student media body and a number of stage and street plays.
Being an avid reader and a follower of policy and polity, the allure of solving complex governance problems through a management consultant’s toolkit is what drew him to Samagra.
Vaibhav completed his Post Graduate Programme in Management at the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad. As part of his professional experience, he has worked as a Legislative Assistant to a Member of Parliament as part of the LAMP Fellowship. He has also worked as a Consultant to the Union Minister for Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Government of India, where he was primarily entrusted with policy research and strategy. Vaibhav has a keen interest in public policy research, discussions and implementation. His research and case studies on low cost Jugaad strategies, CSR for skill development and social development organisations have been published and presented at various international forums.
His vision to create sustainable livelihood solutions through comprehensive impact driven governance solutions brings him to Samagra. He works on the Saksham Haryana Skills and Employment programme, as a part of which he handles accreditation and affiliation of Skill Development Institutions and enables pathways for vocational education students.
Kalpesh completed a Dual Degree (Mining Engineering and MBA) from Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. He worked as a Business Analyst at Analytics Quotient where he focused on building business development and growth metrics for an automobile client.
After working for a year at Analytics Quotient, he joined Samagra because of his interest in working with the political and bureaucratic leadership to create social impact on the ground. He has worked on the Digital Haryana Cell, as a part of which he set up Harpath, a pothole grievance management system, from the scratch. He works on the ADAPT programme and leverages technology to support the decision making system for agriculture in Odisha.
Pavan completed his Bachelors in Chemical Engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Prior to Samagra, he worked across multiple sectors including corporate, non-profit and consulting. From launching new product line-ups as an Associate Product Manager in Procter & Gamble, Pavan went on to explore the social sector. He spent 2 years in rural Nepal and Philippines with All Hands Volunteers managing projects on disaster response and recovery.
A keen interest in creating impact at scale using the government machinery as the biggest enabler, brought him to Samagra. He has since worked in education and governance reforms. He has led the Vidya Vikasam education programme in Andhra Pradesh. He works on the Chief Ministers Good Governance Associates programme in Haryana.
