Linking two lakh youth of Haryana to
Saksham Haryana Employment is working towards linking 2 lakh youth in Haryana to employment. An ambitious programme bringing together the mandates of the Chief Minister, Education Minister and Industries & Skills Minister of Haryana, the key objectives of the project are to create linkages between employers and job-seekers, onboarding public and private organisations to create employment opportunities, developing technology platforms to track employment metrics and strengthening the placement mechanism in higher education institutions in Haryana.
Saksham Haryana Employment is operational in all 22 districts in Haryana and has targets of matching candidates to 80,000 government jobs, 75,000 private jobs and 45,000 apprenticeships
Through extensive profiling and diagnostics, we identified sectors of employment where demand exists. We saw opportunity in the trend where industries are moving from the unorganized to the organized sector such as with Taxi Cabs or Security Guards as well as identified a large scope for apprenticeships. Our demand based approach governed the initiative designing phase where we decided to pursue public sector recruitment reforms on the public front, getting the apprentices act implemented on the apprenticeship front and linking people to jobs on the private front. District visits and extensive data analysis around existing processes and candidate behaviour and interaction helped us in powerful targeting of candidates.
Saksham Haryana Employment team has delivered on high impact avenues of increasing job availability such as partnering with cab/taxi aggregators e.g. Ola, Uber, security guard aggregators such as G4S & Terrier as well as staffing aggregators to raise employment in Haryana and nearby geographical areas, conducting mega-job fairs every month and developing online placement platform for college students to assess existing skills & train on requisite skills for employment.
For matching job opportunities to the right talent, the team is working on creating a functional employment exchange portal for employee and employer registrations and linking along with working to streamline public sector recruitment process through Haryana Staff Selection Commission.
On the apprenticeship front, the team has recognized private establishments as ‘Saksham Sathi’ for being proactive in appointing apprentices as well set up strong review & monitoring systems at the state and district level appointing 10,000+ apprentices within the first 3 months.
The team is also currently diagnosing the skilling ecosystem and will soon be working very closely with the Government in bringing about a transformation in long term and short term skilling set ups.
